The Hot 40 UK chart isn't created by us, it’s powered by official data from Radiomonitor, who track 100% of music played on UK radio, ranked by how many people actually hear each song.

We don’t decide what’s Number 1, we just bring you the real chart, based on what the UK is actually listening to.

From massive national stations like Capital and Radio 1, to hundreds of local and regional ones, every spin is counted — and weighted by audience size. That means when you hear a song at the top of the Hot 40 UK, it’s not just hype, it really is the most-heard track on UK radio that week.
